Yeah... yeah...
So I haven't posted since January, 2008. Deal with it.
In the past year and a half the Boston Blitz made it to the USCL Finals against Dallas, and lost in the blitz playoffs... AGAIN. Meh.
http://www.boston-blitz.com, and http://uschessleague.com have all the coverage you could possibly want.
This coming year, Jorge Sammour-Hasbun is now the Manager of the team, making all the personnel decisions, while I'll stay on as Assistant Manager, handling all the logistical issues. Since I spent about five minutes each week trying to figure out who would play the next match, this should be a Good ThingĀ®
My chess has, as usual, bounced up and down. I was up to 1739 at one point. I'm mostly playing at the Boylston club in Somerville on Thursdays. I played like crap mostly, missing a win against an expert in the aforementioned match, which would have given us a chance at least to finish near the top. Oh well.
A few weeks ago I played in the National Open in Las Vegas. This was my first big tournament (other than the USATE) in twenty-plus years. I had a great time, mostly away from the chessboard, but I did play one nice game:
That's all for now. See you in another 18 months!
